Modified Growth Releasing Factor aminos 1-29, commonly known as Modified GRF (1-29) or Mod GRF(1-29), and also referred to as CJC-1295 without DAC, is a synthetic version of the natural peptide signaling hormone Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH).

CJC-1295 without DAC functions as a long-acting GHRH analog. Growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), which is also called growth-hormone-releasing factor (GRF or GHRF) or somatocrinin, consists of 44 amino acids and is produced in the hypothalamus by the arcuate nucleus. It promotes the secretion of growth hormone (GH) from the pituitary gland. GHRH is released in a pulsatile fashion, which in turn triggers the pulsatile release of GH. Additionally, this substance encourages slow-wave sleep. The active segment of this GHRF or GHRH peptide exists as a 29 amino acid peptide, designated as GHRH 1-29. The pulsatile secretion of various peptides occurs due to the negative feedback loop in the hGH axis, which regulates the amount of hGH the body produces to maintain a state of homeostasis.

Studies on CJC-1295 without DAC in vivo, along with reports from the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, have shown dose-dependent increases in average plasma GH levels by 2-10 times for over 6 days, and boosts in IGF-1 levels by 1.5-3 times for 9-11 days following a single injection.
